The National Gallery Prague is a state-owned art gallery with the largest collection of artworks. The artworks are placed in different historical buildings and other places in Prague. The most extensive gallery is Trade-fair Palace (Veletržní Palác) which contains a collection of modern art. Other galleries are:
Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia (Old Town) houses art of the Middle Ages in Bohemia.

The DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, situated in the Holešovice district, is a multipurpose space for presenting Czech and international art. This renovated building of an old factory contains Exhibition areas, the Gulliver Airship, the DOX+ multifunctional hall, a bookstore, a design shop and the Fine Art Archive. It is a cultural platform for discussions on current topics and interactive workshops on photography, painting etc.

Situated in the Old Town Square, the Central Gallery features three permanent exhibitions of three famous artists. One exhibition includes a collection of works by the famous Spanish artist Salvador Dalí, renowned for his work on original prints, sculptures, and paintings; another exhibition named Andy Warhol - I'm OK, displays the artistic talent of eminent personalities. Lastly, the third exhibition puts forth the works of a Czech painter and designer named Alfons Mucha.

Futura is a non-profit organisation which presents two exhibition spaces dedicated to contemporary art. Futura gallery is a three-storey construction in the Smíchov district of Prague. Since 2003, it has presented group and solo exhibitions of many renowned international and Czech artists, such as Lawrence Weiner, Bas Jan Ader, Betrand Lavier, Mircea Cantor, and Hubert Duprat.

Leica Gallery Prague has been working in the art field since 2002. The gallery supports contemporary Czech and Slovak photography and photographic productions. Located at Školská street in Prague, it also holds debates, seminars, professional lectures, discussions and workshops. The Gallery features work by renowned artists like Mary Ellen Mark, Anton Corbijn, Helmut Newton, Leni Riefenstahl, Edward Steichen and Michel Comte. The premises also feature a café and a bookstore.

Founded in 2009, DSC is a significant gallery located in the Old Town and has built an excellent reputation with foremost artists from the Czech Republic as well as other countries. The gallery also accommodates works of young artists. It holds around six to eight exhibitions a year of renowned artists.

Art cz Gallery is dedicated to a unique art form: doll art. It is propagated by Bohdana Klatilova, who is an award-winning doll artist. She has set up this unique gallery and a creative centre, the first school for doll art. It concentrates on exploring a traditional artistic methodology of art dolls and puppets made from wood. Here, visitors can buy dolls and also have a look at the unique artworks to know more about this form of art.

The Hunt Kastner, located in Bořivojova, is founded by Katherine Kastner and Camille Hunt from USA and Canada. It aims to promote the art of young Czech artists locally and internationally. The Chemistry Gallery is a creative institute dedicated to exhibiting contemporary artworks by young artists from international as well the Czech Republic. Galerie Jakubska was opened in 1994, and since then, it has been exhibiting the work of Alexandr Onishenko and many other international artists. The gallery regularly hosts concerts, exhibitions and other social events.
