Prague Pride to offer 120 events this year
The 5th Prague Pride of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community is all set to start on August 10, 2015. This time the event organisers have decided to offer 120 events to attract more heterosexuals to the festival which includes films, concerts, theatrical performances, and discussions. On August 15, the Prague Pride will end with a parade.
This year, the motto of the festival emphasizes freedom for both LGBT and heterosexuals to intermingle socially. This will send out the message that all are equal.
The slogan for this year is “We all have a rainbow inside”. What it means to say that although gays and lesbians are associated with queer, when observed by a thermographic camera, we are all same.
The festival will officially open with a concert by lesbian Czech singer Aneta Langerová and drag queen singer Conchita Wurst at the festival village, which is situated on the Střelecký Island. Discussions will be held at the festival centre in the Langhans House while The Pride Theater in the Švandovo Divadlo will offer several theatrical performances.
The final Prague Pride march will set out on Saturday from Wenceslas Square at 1:00pm, flowing through the streets in Prague.
